    Apocalypse A Go Go

Apocalypse A Go Go Here, from Radar magazine online, is an amusing AND yet actually informational list of ways the world could come to an end. In the spirit of the reincarnation theme of this blog, I’d like us to wax a bit on how the world could “reincarnate” itself out of these messes before it actually succumbs to them! Radar helps by suggesting some ways to survive the doomsday debacles… Let the End Times Roll With global warming hogging the limelight, and Nostradamus predicting our impending demise, This excerpt from Radar Magazine’s February issue explores the other apocalyptic scenarios threatening to do us in. From transgenic experiments destined to…

    The Reincarnationist Back Story

The Reincarnationist Back Story M. J. Rose introduces us to the back story of her book The Reincarnationist in a guest post for . I thought we ought to re-post it here on our own blog… It’s fun to think of cross-posting as a sort of “reincarnation” for words (see the last paragraph of M.J.’s post below for more on that idea) – The Venerable Thich Nguyen Tang said: “To Buddhism, however, death is not the end of life, it is merely the end of the body we inhabit in this life, but our spirit will still remain and seek out through the need of attachment, attachment to a new…

The Gnashing of Teeth for All Eternity is Not Love!

The Gnashing of Teeth for All Eternity is Not Love! Here is a piece from DR GURU DEWA, Spiritual Head of the Vedanta Mission. I couldn’t agree more that Hell is torture and torture is not any sort of divine love no matter how you slice it. God IS love, and for him/her to be serving out eternal punishments just doesn’t ring true. It really does seem that karma and reincarnation are more in line with the type of wisdom we would like in our versions of God. Peace. Love is the answer, not Hell I WOULD like to offer a few words in clarification of the recently raised issues…

    Jesus Christ In India?

Jesus Christ In India? The Lost Years of Jesus…Where the heck was he? With whom did he spend these years? Did Jesus Christ spend 17 years in India? Was Christ known in the east as “Saint Issa”? There is quite a bit of compelling evidence supporting the seemingly wild proposition that Jesus Christ spent his formative years studying eastern religion in Buddhist monasteries… Here are some links to start your jump down the rabbit hole… Examination of the Lost Years The Tibetan Gospel and from the Urania book It wouldn’t be fair if I didn’t include at least one account from The Naysayers Emily K. Editor on 15 Jan 2008…

    Ripping Off The Dead!

Ripping Off The Dead! Somehow this just seems SO New York to me… This poor guy better be having a nice afterlife to make up for his ridiculous treatment in death! Corpse Wheeled to Check-Cashing Store Leads to 2 Arrests By BRUCE LAMBERT and CHRISTINE HAUSER Even for the once-notorious Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood, it may have been a first: Two men were arrested on Tuesday after pushing a corpse, seated in an office chair, along the sidewalk to a check-cashing store to cash the dead man’s Social Security check, the police said. When Virgilio Cintron, 66, died at his apartment at 436 West 52nd Street recently, his roommate and a…

    The Every-Christ?

The Every-Christ? The more I research this, the more I have begun to consider the claims that perhaps Jesus Christ is a mythical figure handed down (“reincarnated”) in a giant game of telephone from the very earliest myths of a Savior or Son of God… Here, for example, is an interesting musing on this concept that will possibly blow your mind – check it out… HORUS OF EGYPT The stories of Jesus and Horus are very similar, with Horus even contributing the name of Jesus Christ. Horus and his once-and-future Father, Osiris, are frequently interchangeable in the mythos (“I and my Father are one”). The legends of Horus go back…

    Rituals of the Self

Rituals of the Self I have a young baby so partying ’til midnight for New Years was not exactly on the agenda. This year, to welcome 2008, I created what I hope will become a new ritual. I lay the baby down for her last sleep of 2007 (the year of her birth) and stepped into a piping hot shower. With the new scrubby sponge my sister Kate gave me for Christmas, and the earthy geranium soap I’ve been using since the Christmas before, I began to scrub. I scrubbed from the bottom up – bottoms of tired new mama feet, the flat planes of knee caps achey from bearing…
